Boris Milošević, president of UHRS and a former top-level international referee, explains: “Over the years, we’ve seen how the sport is growing and how technology has made it simpler and faster to analyze situations. By systematically reviewing matches, UHRS can highlight areas for improvement and ensure that referees are equipped with practical guidance for handling complex game scenarios.

Using XPS Network, UHRS can deliver high-quality examples and explanations directly to referees’ personal accounts or mobile devices via XPS app, enabling faster learning and more effective feedback. “The networking features of XPS allow us to send video materials quickly and with better quality, and the younger generation finds it more engaging because they can connect directly with their mentors through the system,” Milošević notes.

Before XPS, the process of analyzing unclear situations was slow and cumbersome, often requiring multiple services to share video material. Now, the system allows analysts to include additional staff in the review process within a few clicks, ensuring everyone involved in decision-making can see exactly what has been analyzed and provide immediate input.

Focused Feedback on Every Aspect of the Game

The analytical department covers all areas of refereeing, with particular attention to high-pressure situations along the line and other complex scenarios. “It’s crucial to monitor whether referees are correcting mistakes pointed out and following the advice they receive,” Milošević explains. This structured approach allows UHRS to track progress over time, not just after individual games.

One of the strongest impacts of XPS has been on communication. Referees receive notifications on their devices as soon as analyses are completed, prompting discussions with mentors and peers. “Acceptance by referees has been very high because they can view the examples immediately on their mobiles, and they start interacting and discussing without delay,” Milošević says.

Looking ahead, UHRS sees technology like XPS shaping the future of referee education in Croatia. By integrating video analysis, performance tracking, and streamlined communication, UHRS is making a decisive step forward in modernizing referee training. “XPS has greatly improved the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency, making decision-making and education processes faster and more reliable,” Milošević summarizes.
