FK Teplice, one of the established names in Czech football, has taken a significant step in modernizing its approach to performance, health, and communication by signing with XPS Network. Competing in the Czech First Division, Chance Liga – where 14 of the 16 clubs are already using XPS Network – Teplice joins the majority of the league in embracing a more data-driven future. The club sees this partnership as an important part of their journey toward greater efficiency and professionalization across all levels.

Driving Progress Through Data and Communication

For Teplice, the motivation is clear: bringing greater control and insight into every aspect of their sporting operations. Sporting Director Štěpán Vachoušek explained: “We want to move forward in our sporting department in terms of data and analysis, which means better control of the training process and closer monitoring of player health.”

At the same time, communication across the club has become more efficient. Vachoušek added: “XPS helps us share information easily between players and coaches and also the other way around. That’s why we value this new partnership, which we believe will push both sides forward.”

That improvement was also immediately clear to the club’s Data Analyst, Luboš Pisk: “The biggest step forward is the ability to upload and analyze training and match videos and then pass them on to players. This has sped up feedback and eliminated the problem of scattered communication – everything is concentrated in one platform.”

Protecting Player Health

Beyond performance, player welfare is at the heart of Teplice’s adoption of XPS. The health monitoring tools have given coaches and staff a much clearer picture of how players are coping with workload. Pisk described: “Players fill out readiness and perceived load forms directly from the mobile app, which gives us very valuable data on their training and match intensity.”

These insights are not just collected but also applied directly into planning. “We combine the information with individual training programs, such as strength or recovery exercises, which are delivered through the platform with video demonstrations,” Pisk continued. “That allows us to react more quickly to overload or minor health issues and prevent more serious injuries.”

Better Planning and Stronger Education

The benefits of XPS were particularly visible during the summer preparation period. As Pisk explained: “It allowed us to plan and distribute training content effectively, prepare individual programs, and track how players follow them.” Coaches could quickly adjust plans based on player responses, ensuring each athlete got what they needed.

At the same time, the educational side of the game has been strengthened: “By sharing videos, we improved player education – whether through performance analysis or exercise demonstrations. In the youth categories, we also use the system to communicate with parents. Overall, XPS has made our processes far clearer.”

Looking ahead

As noted by Jiří Jakoubek, VP of Sales at Sideline Sports, the use of XPS across Czech football continues to evolve: “A few years ago, clubs mainly used XPS for their youth teams. Recently, however, we’ve seen it become a key part of first-team operations as well. Thanks to the connection between players and coaches through our mobile app, it’s easy to deliver data from GPS, VALD, OPTA, and many other systems – helping players collaborate much more closely with the performance staff.”

For FK Teplice, this reflects a broader shift across the league – one where technology, communication, and player engagement come together to drive continuous improvement both on and off the pitch.
