The Swedish Handball League – Handbollsligan – has entered a new era through a three-year central partnership with Sideline Sports, beginning with the 2025/2026 season. The agreement gives all 26 teams in the league – 14 men’s and 12 women’s – access to XPS Network, a complete digital ecosystem for video analysis, statistics, and performance management. In total, the partnership connects over 500 senior players and more than 100 coaches under one unified framework.

Beyond supporting senior teams, the partnership also extends to youth and academy programs ensuring that the next generation of Swedish handball players grow within the same high-performance framework as the elite.

Gustav Rosqvist, Country Manager at Sideline Sports Sweden, expressed his excitement about the new collaboration: “We’ve collaborated with most clubs in the league for many years, but this agreement takes our cooperation to the next level. Through this partnership, we aim not only to support elite coaches in their daily work but also to help shape the next generation of Swedish handball players in the youth teams.”

The deal represents a significant step for Svensk Elithandboll, ensuring that every club benefits from shared access to cutting-edge analysis and communication tools. As their CEO Peter Gentzel put it: “Our goal is to create the best possible conditions for the league’s clubs, and this agreement ensures access to a product we know they value.”

From Youth to Elite – Building on Proven Success

One of the shining examples of XPS Network’s impact within Handbollsligan is Ystads IF, who in recent seasons have demonstrated what can happen when a club truly connects its youth and senior teams through a unified digital structure.

As featured in “From Youth to Elite: Ystads IF’s Road to Double Glory”, the club’s commitment to data-driven development and consistent methodology has paid off – delivering championships for both their men’s and youth teams. Using XPS Network, Ystads’ coaches manage training plans, analyze performances, and track progress across all levels, ensuring that the same philosophy runs from the academy to the elite squad.

This holistic approach is exactly what the new Handbollsligan partnership aims to replicate across all clubs. By integrating video analysis, communication, and performance tracking under one system, the league strengthens not only its competitive edge but also its talent pipeline.

A Unified Platform for the Whole League

With the XPS Network now embedded across Handbollsligan, Swedish handball takes a decisive step forward in professionalizing every aspect of the sport – from game analysis and team communication to long-term player development.

The collaboration sets a new standard for how leagues can align technology with performance and culture. As Rosqvist summed it up, this is not just a partnership, but a foundation for the future: “Through this agreement, we aim to help shape the next generation of Swedish handball players.”
