Read MoreYstads IF, one of Sweden’s most storied handball clubs, has been a proud user of XPS Network since 2012. With a large organisation spanning over 40 teams and hundreds of players, the club has built a structure where every player and coach from the age of 15 uses XPS daily. All planning and communication – from gym schedules and video analysis to the regular calendar – happens in one place.
Sports Director Kenneth Andersson explains that XPS is embedded in every level of the club: “For YIF, XPS plays a crucial role in our success. Not only for our elite teams, but also for our thriving youth program. The system gives us the perfect framework to develop our young players alongside our talented coaches, while sharpening the skills of our elite athletes.”
The 2024/25 season was historic for YIF, with the men’s elite team winning both the Swedish Championship title and the domestic cup – a rare and prestigious double. According to Andersson, that success is no coincidence: “When everyone in the club works within the same system every day, it creates consistency, clarity, and a shared standard of excellence.”
For head coach Oscar Carlén, the value of XPS lies in how it supports a modern, analytical approach to the game. “I’m a data-driven coach, and details are everything,” Carlén says. “XPS Network helps me not only collect data, but also analyse it effectively, making it possible to identify patterns in our game more efficiently.”
Carlén stresses that preparation, evaluation, and planning are the backbone of his coaching: “Almost all of this is accomplished and communicated through XPS and the Analyzer. It supports every stage of our process, from pre-match preparation to post-match review.”
With more than a decade of experience using XPS, Ystads IF has shown that sustained success comes from more than just match-day performances. It’s built on a well-structured, club-wide approach where technology and talent work hand in hand – and their 2024/25 double is proof that the formula works.
Sideline Sports’ Sales Director for Sweden, Gustav Rosqvist, has worked with Ystads IF for many years and has seen their progress up close. “I’ve had the privilege of working with the great coaches at Ystads IF for many years, and it’s truly impressive how they’ve integrated XPS into their elite teams and academy. For over a decade, former Sports Director Marcus Lindgren led the club with outstanding work, laying the foundation for today’s success.”
He adds: “Kenneth Andersson has strengthened that work, maintaining the structure and focus needed for success. I’m not at all surprised to see the team lifting trophies – this success has been years in the making.”
